“Ladies who brunch...”
Convent Garden, London.
Steakhouse | Grill | American
Christopher's is an American grill located in Convent Garden and is popular for its Brunch and steaks. Also great for theatre lovers, they provide a special menu for pre & post theatre. I've never been for brunch/afternoon tea before, so was very excited to try...
What did you order?
I ordered the buttermilk pancakes with maple-cured bacon (£10), a side of sweet potato French fries (£5), cinnamon beignets (£8) and a Grand Mimosa (£12). I absolutely loved the pancakes, fluffy with the right amount of density, the bacon was tasty too, however would have loved at least one more strip lol. The beignets I didn't enjoy too tough, too doughy and not enough sugar. Even though they were covered in cinnamon! I'm also not a big fan of melted chocolate, so I'm not really sure why I ordered it. Again, didn't score big with me.
Warm and welcoming. They also offer to put your items in the cloakroom. I love anywhere with a cloakroom!
Does anyone else get weary when the wait staff doesn't write down their order? Saying that, they forgot my mimosa (a bitch was thirsty okay!) however they were very quick to bring one out. You only have 90mins for your table so when time was nearing up, the waitress bought us the bill and the card machine shortly after. Some may find that rude, but I loved that.
What will you order next time?
I love Eggs Benedict so I'd try that or something from their 'Superfood Brunch' section. For dessert, I'd love to try the Coconut & Almond Milk Pannacotta.
Food for thought...
Tables here go like hotcakes so be sure to book well in advance! And please order food you actually like.
